The Emerald Kingdom was one of the Pentagon Powers, a collection of warlord states living in the ruins of the Star League in Exile. The Kingdom occupied a portion of Circe's southern habitable zone.[1]

The Emerald Kingdom was the largest state in southern Circe, though its territory possessed few natural defenses. The Kingdom was ruled by a Capellan elite who referred to themselves as the Junfa. The kingdom was more politically and economically cohesive than its neighbours, while by the standards of the Pentagon Civil War it's military was sizeable and well equipped.[1]
When the Clans invaded Circe as part of Operation Klondike, the Emerald Kingdom was the first target of Clans Mongoose and Nova Cat. Despite its many advantages, the Kingdom was unable to mount significant resistance. The Junfa first became aware of the invasion from refugees fleeing it, as their border garrisons were overrun too quickly to report the nature of the invaders. Their response was based on the assumption that they were under attack from another Pentagon state, and did not take into account that many of the units their plans relied on had already been defeated. The Kingdom was overrun in a mere eleven days, while the Clans' largest loss of life was a friendly fire incident that killed two Mongoose warriors. The Junfa only managed to rally significant defenders at their capital of Gei-Fu. Once it fell resistance was limited to sporadic guerilla attacks that fizzled out before the end of the year.[1]
