The Ender's Cluster is a star cluster containing a number of inhabited planets and in 3145 was located in the Timbuktu Theater of the Lyran Commonwealth.[1][2]
Contents
Description[edit]
Ender's Cluster is located near the Aberystwyth and Florida systems. Ender's Cluster is one of a number of star clusters found within the Inner Sphere and near Periphery, with others including the Chaine Cluster, Pleiades Cluster and Brocchi's Cluster. Unlike some other clusters, no individual notable worlds have been identified within Ender's Cluster on maps.[1][2][3]

History[edit]
Ender's Cluster was either settled during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War,[6][8] or was an already-inhabited cluster that became significant enough during this era to be recorded on maps by the Inner Sphere nations. Whereas the number of inhabited worlds in other clusters such as the Pirates Haven Cluster has varied over time, the number of settled worlds within Ender's Cluster has remained static at ten for centuries.[8][1][2][3]
Enders Cluster was originally a part of the Timbuktu Province of the Rim Worlds Republic and was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the 2773 - 2775 Republic-Commonwealth War.[14]

Ender's 4 had a planet, This Is It? (usually pronounced in an incredulous tone), with a commercial or scientific colony.[35]
Ender's 7[edit]
Ender's 7 was an F-type star on the spinward edge of the cluster. Its fourth planet was named Despair.[35][36]

Planetary History[edit]
A consortium of Lyran corporations financed a small scientific outpost on Despair in early 3072. Their project was to experiment on the planet's unique atmosphere and to test a new hostile-environment sealants and combat vehicle-sealing technology. As part of the garrison force, a custom-converted Ontos was added to it in order to test it and finally try to sell it to the LAAF. Test were going well until the commanding officer of the garrison, Captain Theobald West and his crew commandered the Ontos and after destroying the rest of the garrison unit, ransomed the three senior scientists to their parent corporations and dissapeared on the planet's wasteland. No additional attacks were made by these renegades and ComStar was unable to confirm if they had left the planet or not.[38]

Planetary History[edit]
Ender is the name of the tenth star in the cluster, home to the largest population center. The other nine stars are collectively named Ender's Cluster. Despite this distinction the inhabited planet orbiting Ender has always been referred to as Ender's Cluster. The cluster proper forms an oblate spheroid similar to a ring and shares Oort material (four routinely exchange Edworth-Kuiper material) while Ender is positioned to the galactic north of the ring. In addition to the standard nadir and zenith jump points surrounding each of the ring stars, there are fourteen stable and stationary jump points in the cluster's ring. Each ring star has planets, though theoretical physics says they shouldn't. Though Ender appears separate from the cluster, in a dozen millennia orbital mechanics will move it closer. Numerous transient points exist throughout the cluster, and rumors of derelict fleets, SLDF research stations, and other LosTech wonders abound.[36]
