Enya Gurdel was a Bloodnamed warrior and the commanding officer of the Fifty-fifth Provisional Garrison Cluster of the Ghost Bear Dominion's Kappa Galaxy as of 3085.[1]

Star Colonel Enya, serving with the Fifty-fifth Provisional Garrison, was stationed on Jarett in 3085.[1] By the start of the Second Combine-Dominion War, Enya had earned her Gurdel Bloodname and a reputation for skilled combined-arms tactics. When the Draconis Combine's First Ghost Regiment invaded Jarett on 21 May 3099, Gurdel decided to make the best use of her DropShips in order to create a high orbit defensive cordon, while her aerospace fighters lurked in low orbit for stragglers. The First Ghosts' decision to decelerate at the last moment enabled the majority of their DropShips–save for the doomed Illustrious Sabre–to make planetfall safely by moving too fast to be intercepted.[2]
Star Colonel Enya's fighters made numerous assaults against the Ghosts' landing zone on the first day of ground combat, with the entire struggle soon transforming into a large-scale exercise in combined-arms warfare as the Ghosts broke through the Fifty-fifth PGC's defenses. After rendering the Dominion artillery ineffective, the Ghosts began targeting Enya's command, control, and communications systems and materiel stockpiles, slowly gaining control of the planet despite the savage resistance put up by the PGC. By the middle of June, Enya no longer retained control of any planetary communications satellites and had lost the majority of her resources to Combine occupation. After word of a similar invasion on Thule reached her, she made the decision to retreat to Trondheim in order to link up with other elements of Kappa Galaxy.[2]
