Erna was a notable officer in the Beta Aimag of Clan Diamond Shark's Swimmer Khanate during the Republic Age.[1]

In 3097, Clan Diamond Shark's Beta Aimag was the subject of a Trial of Possession when it landed on Feltre and was challenged by Clan Wolf's Star Colonel Jess Calvert. The bidding for the Trial eventually reduced each fighting force to a single Cluster and placed the combat arena in the Swordtooth Canyons, a region with complex terrain and natural electromagnetic interference that further reduced the battle to small-unit actions. Star Captain Erna's Star eliminated a disorganized Wolf force and possessed limited munitions and moderate damage when they stumbled upon a Star of hostile heavy OmniMechs.[1][2]
Erna reacted by jumping her 'Mech into a flanking position while her warriors engaged with the enemy force, although the Diamond Shark pilots quickly depleted their primary weapons and were forced to resort to melee combat and weaker secondary weapon strikes. Fortunately for Erna's troops, the Wolves proved to be just as low on munitions and suffering from prior damage, allowing her to maneuver the enemy force into a box canyon where she forced their surrender. Only at the battle's conclusion did she come to realize that her unit had defeated Star Colonel Jess Calvert, striking a major blow on behalf of Clan Diamond Shark.[1][2]
