Esmeralda was an officer in Clan Cloud Cobra's 214th Cobra Fangs Cluster during the Golden Century.[1]

Star Captain Esmeralda was serving with the 214th Cobra Fangs Cluster when Clan Coyote attacked Priori in 2872. While she died in the fighting, she was commemorated when a bonsai tree dedicated to her memory was planted in the unit's Honorarium on Homer. When Clan Coyote attacked the Cobras' holdings on Homer in 2954, Esmeralda's bonsai was damaged when a downed Coyote Gotha crashed into the Honorarium, although the garden's keeper Pilot Tomas Masino expressed his intention to restore the monument.[1]
