Evan Mathers was a Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery deserter and commanding officer of the First Edo Company.[1]
History[edit]
A Turtle Bay resident, Evan lost his wife Grace in the Turtle Bay Massacre.[1]
In 3057, while active on Rockland as part of the 11th Legion of Vega, Mathers led the First Edo Company in deserting from the DCMS. As unit commander and pilot of the company's sole BattleMech, he took his unit into the deserts far from the 11th and cut off all communications. His goal was to hunt and kill Smoke Jaguars, revenge for the massacre that took his wife.[1]
The unit captured one rogue Smoke Jaguar, a single pilot in an almost-unsupported Dasher, who turned out to be the carrier of a gene-targeted bioweapon. It ran rampant through the First Edo Company. When the source was identified on 5 September 3059, Evan took the prisoner out in his 'Mech, activated his locator and distress signal on every band, and, with any Smoke Jaguar in range alerted, set his 'Mech to self-destruct. He died in the ensuing explosion.[1]
Personality and Traits[edit]
By 3059, Evan Mathers was deeply focused on violent revenge. He was dismissive of his unit's troubles, and he took sadistic joy in torturing a captive Smoke Jaguar. Evan also struggled with the trauma of loss, sometimes losing himself in memories of his wife.[1]
BattleMechs[edit]
Mathers piloted the First Edo Company's sole BattleMech, a Gunslinger.[1]
