Faith McCarron was the daughter of the third commanding officer of the McCarron's Armored Cavalry Brigade, Archibald McCarron.
History[edit]
After Archibald's death during a training accident in 3050, Marcus Baxter was elected to take command of the mercenary brigade. Baxter later married Archibald's widow and adopted his two children with her, Rhamses and Faith McCarron. These two children were groomed to inherit their family's traditional command of the unit.[3] When she came of age, Faith was assigned to the Fourth McCarron's Armored Cavalry, where she studied under Lord Richard Carson, the unit's current commander.[4]
Her brother, Rhamses McCarron, was very worried of her and was not sure her promotion to Sang-shao was premature.[5]
By 3063, Faith was in command of the Fourth's Second Company, First Battalion, dubbed "McCarron's Pride." She made a name for herself there by developing a wheel-and-thrust flanking tactic and managing to fight Kai Allard-Liao to a standstill during a raid on Gei-Fu.[6]
After the 3067 sabotage of the CCAF WarShip Ilsa Hyung was proven to be carried out by members of the separatist Jie Fang Legion, Faith requested and received permission from Carson to carry out a reprisal raid against the Legion. Taking only her unit and some aerospace support, Faith located the rebels and completely eradicated both them and their 'Mechs and equipment. Upon her return to the MAC, her company was expanded and became the Regiment's new fourth battalion. Faith received command as a reward for her tenacious spirit.[7] In 3079, the death of Carson's XO Erin Gray prompted him to promote Faith to the position, where she continued to serve well.[4] By 3081, her performance had so impressed Carson that he chose to retire and passed control of his regiment to Faith, who assumed command and quickly demonstrated her prowess as a leader in multiple skirmishes on Hsien. The unit was rechristened "Faith's Fortunate" in honor of her command.[2]
Death[edit]
Faith was killed at the Battle of New Canton when her Starslayer's head was destroyed by autocannon fire from a Hastati Sentinels Legionnaire.[1] Her body was recovered by Lindsey Baxter.[8]
