The Fallon system was the location of at least one habitable world, Fallon II, and as of 3152 within the Draconis Combine.[3]

System Description[edit]

Fallon is located near the Colia and Melcher systems[4][5] and consists of a class an F6V primary orbited by at least two planets. During the Star League era a recharge station was in place at the system zenith jump point. The system lies Spinward from Terra.[1][3]

System History[edit]

The Fallon system was colonized at some point during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra[6] and had been incorporated into the Federated Suns by the end of the Age of War.[7][8]

Fallon II is an arid world that has spent much of its history on the border between the Draconis Combine and Federated Suns. During the Star League era Fallon was home to a notable manufacturing company, Olympus Construction Vehicles.[1]

Planetary History[edit]

Star League Era[edit]

During the Star League era, Fallon II was subject to terraforming efforts by the Star League Department of Mega-Engineering; despite the ongoing terraforming efforts, in 2750 Fallon II was still an arid world with an unpleasant atmosphere.[1]

First Succession War[edit]

Although the Fairfax Combat Region of the Woodbine Operational Area wasn't completely conquered by the Draconis Combine during their invasion of the Federated Suns in the First Succession War, unlike a number of other combat regions within the Draconis March,[52] the Fairfax CR was bitterly contested and Fallon II was occupied by the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery at least once. Following the Kentares Massacre, an incensed Armed Forces of the Federated Suns launched a number of retaliations, before launching a series of organized counteroffensives against the demoralized DCMS. The nearby systems of Bremond and Fairfax were liberated by the AFFS in 2798–2799, with AFFS forces battling to liberate Fallon II and the nearby Melcher system from 2802 through to early 2803.[19]

Third Succession War[edit]

In 3019, three regiments from the DCMS or mercenaries under their employ, including the Twelfth Star Guard, were attempting to rebuild and reorganize on Fallon II. The AFFS surprised the DCMS forces by launching a raid using McKinnon's Raiders, a subcommand of the Seventh Crucis Lancers, intent on destroying or disabling factories and mines on the metal-rich but air-poor world. It was during the raid by McKinnon's troops that Tai-i Mercer Ravannion attempted to prove his theory that hordes of light 'Mechs would prove more viable as combat forces than smaller numbers of heavier 'Mechs—an attempt that proved to be a failure in what was recorded as the Battle of Markerson.[27][53]
