The Fifty-first Light Horse Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.
History[edit]
In 2764, the unit was assigned as a part of XLI Corps, Ninth Army to District 2 of the Free Worlds League Military Region.[1] While always keeping a company stationed at the XLI Corps headquarters on Tamarind—rotated out every six months—the 802nd would typically patrol the Lyran Commonwealth border, sometimes supported by the 802nd Independent Aero Wing which provided heavier air support.[2]
The Fifty-first was later moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery. The unit was destroyed during the Periphery Uprising in 2765.[1]

As an SLDF Light Horse regiment, the Fifty-first would have been composed of light to medium vehicles, with at least two recon companies comprising BattleMechs and vehicles designed for information gathering, as well as other regular 'Mechs.[3]
