The Fifty-ninth Royal Light Horse Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.
History[edit]
At times, the Fifty-ninth had combined with the Sixteenth Light Horse Regiment and Sixty-ninth Hussar Regiment to form an ad hoc brigade.[1]
In 2764, the unit was assigned as part of LI Corps, Eleventh Army to District 1 of the Lyran Commonwealth Military Region. Following the Periphery Uprising in 2765, the Fifty-ninth was transferred to District 2 of the LCMR to backfill for units deployed into the Periphery. The Fifty-ninth survived the war and the Hegemony Campaign, and followed General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus in 2784.[2]

Tactics[edit]
The Fifty-ninth was one of the best units at dropping onto a planet undetected.[1]
Composition History[edit]
As an SLDF Light Horse regiment, the Fifty-ninth would have been composed of light to medium vehicles, with at least two recon companies comprising BattleMechs and vehicles designed for information gathering, as well as other regular 'Mechs.[3]
