Flora Bannock was a notable hovercraft commander in the Frazer Militia during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Sergeant Bannock's hovercraft platoon were participating in the defense of Frazer when the Capellan Confederation invaded the world in 3144. When Major Sneed of the militia ordered Bannock's platoon to strike against a convoy of Confederation logistical units with Regulator escorts, the hovercraft crewmen were forced to attack despite their objections. The light armament carried by the militia hovercraft completely failed to penetrate the Regulators' armor and the Capellan tanks' return Gauss rifle fire proved lethal, destroying three of the four hovercraft in Bannock's platoon.[2][3]
Having obeyed orders in leading her men to their deaths, Bannock returned to friendly lines and subsequently assaulted Major Sneed with a chair. Inflicted with a broken clavicle, three cracked ribs, and a concussion, Sneed responded by filing charges against Bannock that lead to her imprisonment on Firgrove. While the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns' Judge Advocate General was assigned to the case, it was widely expected that Bannock's infraction would be covered up so as to return her to combat.[1]
