The Twenty-fifth Striker Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army, eventually becoming The Fomorians mercenary unit following the Amaris Civil War.
History[edit]
Star League Defense Force[edit]
Sometime in the final years of the Star League before 2764, the unit was assigned to LXI Corps, Twelfth Army as a part of the Second Regimental Combat Team.[3]
The Second RCT was sent to Detroit to investigate rumors of weapon stockpiles, where they were was completely unprepared to face a full division of Taurian rebels. The three other units of the Second RCT were completely destroyed in the fighting, however the Twenty-fifth managed to fight its way out through the enemy's flanks to escape and call in reinforcements.[3]
In 2764, the unit was assigned to District 2 of the Lyran Commonwealth Military Region but was moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery in 2765 in response to the Periphery Uprising. The Twenty-fifth took heavy losses during the Hegemony Campaign.[4]
Mercenary[edit]
Opting not to join Operation EXODUS to remain in the Inner Sphere, the Twenty-fifth Striker Regiment signed on as a mercenary unit with the Lyran Commonwealth in 2783,[4][5] choosing to call themselves the Fomorians.[2]
Stationed on Eltanin when the First Succession War broke out in 2786, the Fomorians were among the many mercenary units to fall during that brutal conflict, being listed as destroyed prior to its conclusion in 2821.[1]

SLDF Striker regiments were used for reconnaissance and breakthrough exploitation.[6]

Twenty-fifth Striker Regiment
- As an SLDF Striker regiment, the Twenty-fifth would have been composed primarily of light to medium BattleMechs and had at least one company of Land-Air BattleMechs for recon. Also attached were pairs of aerospace fighters.[6]

The Fomorians (Regiment/Veteran/Reliable)[1]
- Note: At this time the heavy-weight unit was stationed on Eltanin. The unit was destroyed during the war.[1]
