Plot Summary[edit]
Chancellor Arden Baxter is assassinated by a member of Marion's Highlanders of the Northwind Highlanders as he walks through the streets of Capella Prime en route to a regular Thursday-night meeting at the House of Scions. A headshot with a needler ends the Capellan Confederation's first experiment with a chancellor who was not a Liao.
