Frank Able was the commanding officer of Able's Aces as of 3085.[1]
History[edit]
Prior to the Jihad, Frank stood out as a staunch opponent of Rim Collection-Word of Blake relations.[3]
By 3085, Frank had reached the rank of Colonel in Able's Aces, and, serving under contract with the Rim Collection, was stationed on Gillfillan's Gold.[1] He had been offered a seat on the Collection Council for his staunch position against ties to the Blakists. While considering the post, he turned most of the unit's day-to-day operations over to his son Restarick.[2][3]
As commander of Able's Aces, Frank introduced ride-along observation and training programs for Rim Collection recruits, giving the academy-less state some support and encouraging recruitment.[4]
In 3099, the Rim Collection used a company of Aces' BattleMechs to claim the world of Hunter's Paradise in the Deep Periphery. Following this, the Collection colonized the world of Able's Glory—named in honor of Frank Able—in order to provide better services for JumpShips and civilians heading to Hunter's Paradise. While the large amount of resources dedicated to this endeavor lead to Slewis and Caldarium's secession from the Collection, Able's Glory was found to contain a significant amount of germanium deposits that quickly justified its colonization.[5]
