Franklin Vong was a Bloodnamed warrior and commanding officer of the Ghost Bear Dominion's Seventy-third Battle Cluster during the Second Combine-Dominion War.[1]

Fresh from their assault on the Clan Nova Cat world of Labrea, Star Colonel Franklin's Seventy-third Battle Cluster and the Fourth Bear Regulars were reassigned to assault the world of Caripare in mid-3099. Their specific objective was the annihilation of the Nova Cat Rangers, who had denied the defenders of Halesowen hegira in 3096 and thus had instigated the brutal feud between the two Clans. An additional benefit was Caripare's status as the central logistics hub for the entire Irece Prefecture, making its conquest strategically important for further Dominion attacks in the region. While the Fourth Regulars were given the task of taking the massive materiel stockpiles of Fort Felis, Franklin's Seventy-third Battle were assigned the mission of capturing Clan Nova Cat's genetic repositories near the city of Dabuteshire.[1]
The assault began on 31 July, with both Bear units quickly becoming locked into combat with the defenders of their respective objectives. Amidst repeated strikes against the Cat's scattered facilities, Franklin realized that several of the enemy's creches had yet to be evacuated and ordered his men to charge en masse in order to prevent the Rangers from successfully disengaging. What followed became known as the "Last Stand at Sibko-HS6," with fierce fighting raging between the Seventy-third Battle and Nova Cat Rangers. By the conclusion of hostilities on 7 August, Caripare was officially under Ghost Bear control and—while the Nova Cat Rangers had been killed to a man—Franklin's Cluster had been nearly destroyed over the course of the vicious fighting.[1]
