Description[edit]
The Fwltur is an early post-Jihad era SalvageMech developed by the New Earth Trading Company of New Earth to profit from the recovery efforts of the newly formed Republic of the Sphere. The Fwltur was designed to allow it to be used in any atmospheric or vacuum environment that may present a challenge to its user. The 'Mech was openly sold to many legally licensed companies operating in the Republic, and some companies who weren't.[1]
While the Fwltur has no official production variants, NEC does offer customization with the aid of its staff for customers who need the 'Mech adjusted to their requirements.[1]
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The Fwltur features a pair of salvage arms and a rear-mounted lift hoist to aid in its principal job: salvaging wrecked equipment and other assorted items. A Beagle active probe and searchlight are fitted as part of the 'Mech's means of searching for potentially hidden items in various locations. Designed to function in hazardous environments, the Fwltur's environmental sealing protects the pilot from harm while three and a half tons of BAR 5-grade commercial armor protects the internals adequately in non-combat situations. As part of its all-planetary environment capacities, it has a 105-rated fusion engine and three BattleMech-scale underwater maneuvering units for underwater operations.[1]
Variants[edit]
- FWL-3V
- This Fwltur variant, introduced in 3085[3], removes the UMUs, Beagle active probe, and searchlight. It replaces them with an extra lift hoist on the right torso and two mechanical jump boosters. BV (2.0) = 252[4][3]
