Gaëlle Charbonneau was the commanding officer of Second Platoon, Scythe Company of the 212th Special Operations Battalion during the Republic Age.[2][1]

Lieutenant Charbonneau, a native of Terra's Quebec region, first gained a reputation during a joint special forces wargame on Terra. During the competition, Charbonneau detached herself from her unit and successfully infiltrated to within a few meters of the 212th Special Operations Battalion's headquarters. The young officer lasted long enough to "kill" 212th Captain Esteban de la Rosa before being eliminated by his remaining squad members, and while the captain was unamused by Charbonneau's success, he did see in her the makings of a master infiltrator. Brought into Stone's Trackers soon after, Charbonneau was groomed by Major Aiko Ueda as a potential successor for leadership of the unit, and she began a romantic affair with de la Rosa after being granted command of Scythe Company's Second Platoon. While Charbonneau worried that de la Rosa was using her to gain an edge in his rivalry with Ueda, she never found out the truth of the matter before the unit was destroyed during the Capellan Crusades.[1]
