Planetary History[edit]
Amaris Civil War[edit]
The Star League Defense Force liberated Galatia III as a part of Operation CHIEFTAIN, the campaign against the Amaris Empire that began in July 2772. The liberation of Galatia III was one of the worlds assigned to the SLDF Task Force assigned to the Sun Theater; falling within the operational region of the Twenty-first Army Group, the attack on Galatia III was conducted by elements of the Ninth Army.[51]
XLI Corps landed on Galatia III in the first wave of attacks, and defeated the Amaris Empire Armed Forces troops on the planet in a slow and steady campaign that saw the main combat operations draw to a close in August 2772, although the Corps remained on the planet until the end of the year.[12]
Succession Wars[edit]
Galatia III changed hands several times during the Succession Wars, but its various occupiers left it largely undamaged. This was due to the planet largely lacking strategic value or resources significant enough to merit hostile attention.[1]
First Succession War[edit]
Galatia III was invaded during the first half of the major invasion into the Federated Suns launched by the Draconis Combine in May 2787.[16]
Third Succession War[edit]
At some point during the Third Succession War, Kurita-supported guerrillas stroke Galatia III. Charger 'Mechs belonging to the Illician Lancers were critical in the rooting of the insurgents as they were very effective against them in the think forest. The guerrillas forces, mainly infantry and hovercraft, were effective against isolated AFFS installations and population centers but where not a match for the Charger's armour whom supported by airstrikes and light scout 'Mechs were able to clear out the rebels within four weeks, much less than the six months that Davion planners had anticipated.[52]
Dark Age[edit]
At the height of the Republic of the Sphere's power and influence, Galatia III was still a pleasant and scenic world. The planet was dotted with harbors, mines and small, clean cities, but the vast regions of untouched wilderness and the many tropical getaways were considered the most striking things to be found on Galatia III.[1]

Geography[edit]
Galatia III closely resembles Terra, and possesses ample levels of mineral resources, numerous tropical islands and large regions of untamed wilderness.[1]
