Garet "Goldenmane" Ravenwater was a Bloodnamed warrior in Clan Hell's Horses Twenty-second Mechanized Assault Cluster during the Dark Age Era.[2]

During Operation NOYAN, Star Captain Garet commanded a mixed force of new Doom Courser and QuadVee BattleMechs as part of the invasion of New Oslo. When elements of Clan Ghost Bear's Fifty-fifth Provisional Garrison Cluster lured Garet's unit to the Helvetesport Crater, the Horses quickly nullified the Bears' terrain advantage when Garet established contact with an orbiting satellite that revealed every detail of the PGC's positions. Garet sent his QuadVees up the crater's rocky slopes and the Bears, taking fire from both of their flanks and from the Horses' stationary Doom Coursers, chose to try and push their way through the Doom Courser Star in order to escape. This effort subsequently failed and Garet's force achieved victory when the Ghost Bears' commander requested hegira for his remaining men.[2]
Following Operation NOYAN, Garet's focus shifted towards the Periphery's Bandit Kingdoms, long abandoned during the Clans' drive towards Terra. It was his belief that the Republic of the Barrens and former Rim Worlds Republic systems should be absorbed by the Horses before they continued their drive against the Inner Sphere. While Garet's position in Alpha Galaxy gave him access to discuss these plans with Khan Gottfried Amirault, the Clan's leader continued to ignore his advice.[1]
