The Garrison Fleet was a notional command existing more on paper than reality as part of the Star League Defense Force Naval Command.[1]
History[edit]
Star League facilities often required naval protection, this generally took the form of flotillas of destroyers, sometimes supported by cruisers. These vessels were outside of the regular fleet structure, but were instead considered part of the Garrison Fleet for administration purposes. Sometimes vessels from garrison postings would be seconded temporarily to SLDF Fleets, but it was not unheard of for garrison ships to form ad hoc fleets for singular actions.[1]

The Garrison Fleet was comprised of over 750 active destroyers and cruisers backed by squadrons of assault DropShips and aerospace fighters immediately prior to the Amaris Civil War.
