Geoffrey Blanchard was a notable MechWarrior in the Fifth Crucis Lancers during the Battle of New Syrtis.[1]

Sergeant Blanchard was an urban combat specialist serving in the Fifth Crucis Lancers when the unit participated in the 3147 liberation of New Syrtis. As part of Operation CERBERUS' Task Force Styx, the Fifth Lancers were the vanguard of Julian Davion's forces and were responsible for capturing House Hasek's family mansion from the Capellan Confederation's Dynasty Guard. While Blanchard successfully overheated several hostile BattleMechs with his plasma rifle, the Fifth Lancers were unable to prevent the Guard from destroying the Haseks' manor before they retreated. The Lancers returned to the capital city just in time to rescue Davion's forces after they were ambushed in the Cave command center, with the tight tunnel systems allowing Blanchard to effectively utilize his 'Mech's various weapons systems. By the close of the battle, Blanchard had destroyed two Fourth McCarron's Armored Cavalry machines and three members of the traitorous Fortune Charlie mercenary command, earning himself the Federated Suns Star for his actions.[1]
