The Golden Sun Awards were an annual entertainment industry awards show in the Republic of the Sphere.[1]
Overview[edit]
The Golden Sun Awards were established in 3095 by the Golden Sun Entertainment Consortium. Hosted annually, initially almost always on Terra, the Golden Sun Awards honored people in a wide range of positions in the Republic's entertainment industry. In 3125, Bannson Universal Unlimited acquired the Golden Sun Entertainment Consortium and turned the Awards into a touring show hosted by various planets in the Republic.[1]
Nominations for the Awards were made by a vote of industry representatives, nearly five thousand members by 3133. As of that year, these members, representing a wide range of industry and industry-adjacent positions, determined the nominees for 77 awards. Known awards included Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Female Lead, and three Most Patriotic Selection awards for music, trideo, and holovids.[1]
In June 3133, the Golden Sun Awards were to be hosted on Addicks. However, due to post-Blackout conflict on the planet, the show was moved to neighboring Towne.[1]
