Overview[edit]
Gorton, Kingsley, and Thorpe Enterprises began life as a law firm headquartered on Rasalhague.[1] In a bitter corporate struggle that almost bankrupted both firms, GKT entered the weapons industry in around 2975 by acquiring Alshain Weapons' plants on Alshain and New Oslo—which manufactured the Panther and other related weaponry—along with BattleMech production facilities elsewhere such as on Jarett. Production had steadily increased, and by 3025, GKT had planned to create three additional Panther factories despite shortages of the Cat's Eye 5 targeting-tracking system and the Sipher CommCon CSU-4 communications system.[3]
After the Ronin War, GKT jump-started the Free Rasalhague Republic's economy by selling off most of their military production lines, with Bergan Industries acquiring both of the former Alshain Weapons plants on Alshain and New Oslo. This investment in smaller firms stimulated the economy of several planets and provided a huge public relations coup for GKT.[1] Meanwhile, GKT also began construction of a second BattleMech facility on Rasalhague to be completed by 3051.[4]
Since taking control of the lion's share of the FRR, Clan Ghost Bear had done their utmost to integrate with the occupied populace as much as possible. Although GKT factories on Satalice seemed of dubious value to the Clan's touman, they continued to train the workers there to Clan manufacturing standards, meanwhile accepting modest numbers of the factory's original products for use as training 'Mechs and to be issued to the lowest of garrison and solahma troops.[citation needed]
As GKT had connections and partnerships with so many civilian manufacturing concerns, the Ghost Bear merchant caste had integrated their employees and executives to better tie into the culture of the former Rasalhague Republic.[1]
GKT had factories on Holmsbu and Radstadt by 3076.[1] During the Jihad, neither the Rasalhague nor Satalice facilities lost any personnel. Both facilities were operating at three-quarters of their maximum output in 3079.[5]

Notes[edit]
- The original TRO:3050 identified the Alshain Weapons plant on Jarett and the GT&K plant on Satalice as two of the "no less than five" Inner Sphere factories where the Phoenix Hawk was in full production, which made it a early candidate for recovered technology.[8] These pages were removed in the subsequent TRO:3050 Revised.[8]
- The New Oslo plant is only noted as producing "rifles, submachineguns, and jump jets" in 3025[3], then in 3039 is noted as a primary plant producing the PNT-9R Panther[10] and one of four Inner Sphere factories producing the Phoenix Hawk[9] which may include the PXH-3K variant listed in the TRO entry.
