Grain Rebellion Day was an important holiday on New Avalon, celebrated annually at least until 2740, commentating the Grain Rebellion and New Avalon's independence from the Terran Alliance.[1]

Celebrating the Grain Rebellion in 2237, this holiday was marked with hours long reenactments of key events of the Grain Rebellion by people in period costumes during the day, including the storming of the spaceport in Avalon City. This was followed by more formal commemorations, including speeches by dignitaries and an ecumenical religious service for those who died in the rebellion during the afternoon, before a night long feast and party which resembled the ancient Terran tradition of w:Mardi Gras[1]
