Apocryphal This article's subject is only mentioned in apocryphal sources, i.e. official BattleTech products which are not clearly Non-canon but do not meet the current Canon criteria either. For more information, check the Canonicity section. |
Canonicity[edit]
This weapon was featured in an official BattleTech product, namely the MechAssault series of computer games.[1][2]
By virtue of being an official albeit not positively canonical product, the game expansion and the weapons and equipment presented therein including this one must be considered apocryphal. The Gravity Cannon is an ancient weapon design, used extremely rarely and only on Rommel Mk II tanks, and is seen in MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf and MechAssault: Phantom War.
Description[edit]
The Gravity Cannon is an energy based version of the Gauss rifle. It fires at a moderate rate and creates no heat. The weapon is best used at medium to long ranges. The Gravity Cannon also has a zoom ability for greater accuracy at longer ranges.
