History[edit]
Gunther's Grenadiers were one of several mercenary units in a "large contingent" of mercenaries that Federated Suns sent to raid Spica in 2970, with other named commands in the action including Brighton's Irregulars and Deidre's Destroyers. The mercenaries were surprised and all but destroyed by the Red Lancers together with the Prefectorate Guard, netting the defending Capellan Confederation forces sixteen salvaged 'Mechs of all types.[1]
