Major General Gustav Bjornstad was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's LXIII Corps as of 2764.[1]

Born to a mother whose family was from China on Terra, Bjornstad was fluent in both both Mandarin and Cantonese. Together with his academic background as a specialist in bureaucracy, having received a doctorate on how to overcome bureaucratic hurdles to effective government, these capabilities were the basis for his appointment to lead the Capellan Confederation based LXIII Corps.
Despite looking more like an accountant than a combat General, he was able to improve the ability of his Corps to obtain supplies, through the difficulties created by Capellan laws and officials. He was however seeking to strengthen his Corps' Member-State Liaison Command team, with more people with an understanding of Capellan government and culture, but struglled as many of the best suited candidates were Capellan expatriates who were unwilling to return home.[1]
