Handheld Weapons

(Redirected from Handheld weapons)

Heavy equipment on firearm-like mounts scaled for 'Mech use, commonly known as handheld weapons, spent centuries as an idea alone. Terran Hegemony attempts to invent them resulted in jettison-capable weapons, but it took until 3055 for true handheld weapons to be invented by Federated Commonwealth researchers. Due to bulk and the ease of stealing handheld weapons, the technology struggled to gain acceptance and leave the testing stage until the 3080s.[1][2]

Systems[edit]

1 Ton Systems[edit]

To boost the sales of its Exo HaulerMech, Waytani, Inc. released plans for compatible, easily-built tools.[3]
In the immediate aftermath of the Blackout, several light handheld weapons appeared in the hands of irregular forces, crafted for use with the Exo.[3]

2 Ton Systems[edit]

To boost the sales of its Exo HaulerMech, Waytani, Inc. released plans for compatible, easily-built tools.[3]
  • Triple nail/rivet gun tool - three nail/rivet guns and half a ton of nails/rivets.[3]
In the immediate aftermath of the Blackout, several light handheld weapons appeared in the hands of irregular forces, crafted for use with the Exo.[3]
  • Light machine gun weapon - two light machine guns and half a ton of ammunition, protected by half a ton of armor.[3]
  • Magshot Gauss weapon - a Magshot Gauss rifle and one ton of ammunition, protected by half a ton of armor.[3]
  • MML weapon - A single MML-3 pack and half a ton of ammunition.[3]
  • Rocket launcher weapon - Four Rocket Launcher 10 packs.[3]
  • Small laser weapon - A single small laser, supported by a power amplifier and a heat sink.[3]

3 Ton Systems[edit]

Several Clantech handheld weapons were designed for the Incubus II:[4]
  • Medium chemical laser weapon : Mounts twin medium chemical lasers with half a ton of ammunition, and adds half a ton of armor.[4]
  • Streak LRM weapon : Mounts a Streak LRM-5 with half a ton of ammunition, and adds half a ton of armor.[4]
  • LRM weapon : Mounts a pair of LRM-5 launchers with half a ton of ammunition, and adds half a ton of armor.[4]
  • Streak SRM weapon : Carries a single Streak SRM-4 with half a ton of ammunition, and adds half ton of armor.[4]
  • AP Gauss rifle weapon : An anti-infantry and battle armor weapon, this system carries triple AP Gauss rifles with one ton of ammunition, and adds half a ton of armor.[4]

6 Ton Systems[edit]

Several systems were developed for use with the QKD-8X Quickdraw before being put into production in 3084. The Handheld weapon packages developed were divided into light and heavy types. The six ton light systems include:[5]
  • Light autocannon weapon - A light AC/5 with half a ton of reloads protected by half a ton of armor.[6][7]
  • Light anti-infantry weapon - Five machine guns and a vehicle flamer supplied with half a ton of machine gun ammo and one of flamer reloads, clad in one ton of armor.[6][7]
  • Light laser weapon - A single medium laser cooled by three heat sinks and covered in two tons of armor.[6][7]
A late 3090s revamp of Solaris VII arena The Factory introduced a handheld weapon dispenser, carrying a mix of weapons of various tonnages. These include:[8]
  • Medium laser - A single medium laser cooled by three heat sinks and covered in one ton of armor.[8]
  • Flamer - Six vehicle flamers, two tons of fuel, and one ton of armor.[8]

6.5 Ton Systems[edit]

Introduced in 3074 alongside the AXM-6X Axman[9]
  • Light autocannon - light AC/5 with 1 ton of ammunition and a half-ton of armor.[10][11]
  • Enhanced LRM - Enhanced LRM-10 and a half ton of ammunition.[10][11]
  • ER medium laser - One ER medium laser, five heat sinks, and a half-ton of armor.[10][11]
  • Heavy flamer - Three heavy flamers, one ton of ammunition, and a ton of armor.[10][11]
  • Fluid gun - Twin fluid guns with two tons of ammunition available, protected by a half-ton of armor. The flexible nature of the fluid gun's ammunition allows this weapon pod to be used in noncombat situations.[10][11]
  • LRM system - This weapon pod carries three LRM-5 launchers and a half-ton of ammunition.[10][11]
  • MML system - A single MML-7 with a ton of ammunition and armor.[10][11]
  • Streak SRM launcher - A single Streak SRM-6 with a ton of ammunition, which is protected by a ton of armor.[10][11]

10 Ton Systems[edit]

One ten ton system was used in the Factory's weapon dispenser:[8]
  • Heavy chemical laser - Six medium chemical lasers, two tons of ammunition, and two tons of armor.[8]

12 Ton Systems[edit]

Handheld weapon packages developed for QKD-8X were divided into light and heavy types. The twelve ton heavy systems include:
  • Heavy LRM weapon - An LRM-20 and one ton of reloads clad in a single ton armor.[6][7]
  • Heavy LB-X weapon - An LB 10-X AC with a half-ton of reloads protected by a half-ton of armor.[6][7]
  • Heavy Streak weapon - A trio of Streak SRM-4s with a single shared ton of reloads clad in two tons of armor.[6][7]
  • Heavy rotary AC weapon - A rotary AC/5 with a ton and half of ammo protected by half a ton of armor.[6][7]
  • Heavy Thunderbolt weapon - A Thunderbolt 10 clad in two tons of armor and supplied with three tons of reloads.[6][7]
Four twelve ton systems were used in the Factory's weapon dispenser:[8]
  • Rotary autocannon - A rotary AC/5 with one ton of ammo and one ton of armor.[8]
  • Heavy SRM weapon - Five SRM-4 packs, one ton of Narc-capable ammo, and one ton of armor.[8]
  • Heavy LRM weapon - Two Clantech LRM-15 packs backed by Artemis V FCS, one ton of ammunition, protected by one ton of armor.[8]
  • Hyper-Assault Gauss - A single Hyper-Assault Gauss Rifle 20, one ton of ammunition, and one ton of armor.[8]
