History[edit]
Nitta commanded a squadron of Shilone aerospace fighters, based on an Olympus-class recharge station in the Dieron system, during the Ronin War.
In 3034 a fleet of ronin DropShips, comprising a Union-class DropShip and a pair of Leopards, were attempting to escape Dieron via a waiting JumpShip. Nitta, a strong proponent of Theodore Kurita's reforms, ordered his unit to pursue at full acceleration.
While Nitta's fighters managed to intercept the fleeing ronin as they reached their JumpShip, they did not have time to decelerate, giving them only one pass before they overshot. Nitta therefore personally performed a kamikaze run on the JumpShip, destroying both it and two docked DropShips. The remaining Leopard's drive was disabled by a lucky shot of one of Nitta's remaining fighters
For his actions, Nitta was posthumously awarded the Bushido Blade.[1]
