A military rank unique to the Lyran Alliance Armed Forces, a Hauptmann-General is the commanding officer of one of the five core areas of each Alliance province. Typically these core areas are not combat areas, so most of the Hauptmann-General's duties are administrative in nature.[1] Hauptmann-General is also a common rank held by brigade commanders,[2][3] though officers also filling other duties[4] or those in prominent positions[5] can warrant a higher rank. The naval equivalent of this rank is Kommodore.
Their insignia is four diamonds arranged in a cross, also known as the First Steiner Cross.[6]
