Dr. Henry James Croft was a high-ranking field researcher and department head for Interstellar Expeditions.[2][1]
History[edit]
Born sometime around 3023, in 3067 Dr. Croft was a huskily built man approaching his mid-forties who walked with a slight limp on his right leg he had acquired sometime after 3062 and had a voice belying his chain smoking. He had a broad, nearly flat face, pastel blue eyes, and kept his blonde hair short while wearing a goatee. He was an active field researcher for Interstellar Expeditions since at least 3062 and likely much earlier. His relationship with Dr. Brooklyn Stevens soured at sometime following an expedition on Vulture's Nest that resulted in Stevens "abscond[ing]" with 300,000,000 kroner of IE equipment. Despite this on 24 April 3067 he hired Stevens to locate Jardine following the publication of Panthera ignus jardinalis—A New Link? by Dr. Amanda Holyfield which vastly narrowed the search for the world.[2][3]
On 12 December 3067, Dr. Croft again met with Dr. Stevens aboard the Sacajawea at the zenith jump point of the Loric system. There he was introduced to Alahni and presented with information on the expedition to Jardine. In accordance with the ensuing negotiations he agreed to triple Stevens' fee, advancing her half then, repairing her the Sacajawea, and sending a ship to Donegal to transport Tyler Stevens to an unknown destination. Croft offered Stevens quadruple her fee if she'd rejoin IE, which she demurred.[3]
Sometime after, Dr. Croft was killed. His death was attributed to Word of Blake.[1]
