Description[edit]
The Hierofalcon is a medium Clan OmniMech designed primarily as a striker unit by Clan Jade Falcon. Developed by the Falcons in the mid-3140s as part of the Clan's increasing emphases on maneuverability and fast movement, the 'Mech began construction in 3148 on Alyina's CJF Factory Zone 4. The Hierofalcon was designed at the same time as the larger Jade Phoenix, and the duo were part of a new generation of OmniMechs intended to eventually replace the standard BattleMechs used by the Clan.
One of its noted early actions was in 3149 in a skirmish against the Falcons' former close allies, Clan Hell's Horses, on Hyperion. The light and swift Hierofalcons overwhelmed the Horses' Nova, gaining a reputation among the Horses as being a terror on the battlefield.
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
As part of the push to be ever more flexible in movement, the 'Mech features a 270-rated extralight engine, allowing the mech to move at speeds up to 97.2 km/h. The addition of a permanently equipped partial wing adds dual benefits, both increasing jump distance and cooling capabilities. The 'Mech's hull is protected by seven and a half tons of ferro-fibrous armor, giving it modest protection from enemy fire.
The 'Mech was constructed with 19 tons of pod space for weapons and equipment. Its Primary configuration features a Hyper-Assault Gauss rifle 20 in the right arm with two tons of ammunition allotted to the weapon. This is backed up by a pair of improved heavy medium lasers mounted in the left arm. To increase its utility, the Hierofalcon features a TAG in the center torso, while an ECM suite provides protection from electronic threats. Six jump jets are fitted which, when combined with the partial wing, allow for leaps of up to 240 meters.
Alternate Configurations[edit]
- Alternate Configuration A
- A close-range fighter with the added role of anti-infantry striker, this configuration features a right arm mounted large pulse laser, a pair of AP Gauss rifles split between the arms, two ER medium lasers, and a flamer mounted in the left arm. To assist it in reaching its targets, eight improved jump jets are also fitted. BV (2.0) = 1,953[3][1]
- Alternate Configuration B
- A missile-oriented configuration, The Hierofalcon B's main payload consists of six SRM-6 launcher. Each side torso mounts a pair of the launchers, while one additional launcher can be found in each arm. Two ammo bins of 30 missiles are mounted in each of the side torsos with CASE II, ensuring lucky hits do not take out the 'Mech. These missile armaments are backed up by arm-mounted ER small lasers and an ER medium laser in the center torso. For added mobility, the 'Mech features six standard jump jets. BV (2.0) = 1,737[1][4]
- Alternate Configuration C
- A long-range sniper, the C configuration has an ER PPC and long reaching rotary AC/2 with 90 rounds of ammunition. Six jump jets are mounted for added manoeuvrability. BV (2.0) = 1,983[1][5]
- Alternate Configuration D
- Unlike earlier configurations the D configuration lacks jump jets, but features a supercharger to make up for this. This configuration is mostly a laser-based striker model, with an ER medium laser and medium pulse laser in each arm. For added all-range firepower, it features a pair of ATM-6 launchers, one in each of its side torsos, with the four tons of ammunition protected by CASE II. BV (2.0) = 2,183[1][6]
