Hilario Diaz was a notable fighter pilot in the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History[edit]
During the Palmyra Debacle, Sergeant Diaz was flying a protective patrol around the FSS Numenor's Pride when the Draconis Combine's hidden forces launched their attack. While their JumpShip prepared to make an emergency departure from the Palmyra system, Diaz and his wingman fought against an entire squadron of Shilones in the Pride's defense. The two AFFS pilots were able to destroy four of their six attackers but took significant damage to their armor from LRM fire, with Diaz's comrade subsequently perishing while withdrawing to the Pride. Additionally, Diaz's own craft crashed during landing maneuvers, leaving him alive but incapacitated aboard a hospital ship during the later fall of Tsamma.[1]
