Prior to the Clan Invasion, the Hussars were a brigade of light-medium weight BattleMech regiments belonging to the KungsArmé.
History[edit]
Formed along with the rest of the KungsArme, the Hussars regiments were designed to use medium-weight BattleMechs. These 'Mechs were supposed to be at the lighter end of the spectrum, and simultaneously carry enough firepower to allow the Hussars to inflict serious damage on a foe and then retreat.[1] Each province was home to one of the Hussar regiments, and the brigade was adept at quick redeployment across their assigned zone.[2]
After the formation of the Ghost Bear Dominion, the Hussars regiments were honored by being recreated as new Clusters.

Tactics[edit]
Though each Hussars regiment uses its own tactics, in general, the units of this command are highly skilled at rapid redeployments. This allowed them to act as the rapid response force for their province. They quickly disengaged from one foe, boarded their DropShips, and redeployed against the same enemy from a new direction or a new enemy force.[2]
Every supporting combat vehicle battalion maintained only a lance of heavy or assault tanks, to be used for defense. The remainder of the vehicles were fast hovercraft, and the assigned infantry were anti-'Mech trained jump infantry.[2]

Color Scheme and Insignia[edit]
The Hussars, like most of the KungsArmé regiments save the First Tyr, did not exist long enough to develop any particular color scheme. For official use, machines were painted the colors of the KungsArmé: light blue, gray, and red. Combat schemes were a camouflage.[3]
Notes[edit]
The Third Husars are sometimes noted as fighting on Satalice, where they held off the Thirteenth Wolf Guards for more than a month with Kapten Ragnar Magnusson.[4] This is in error and later sources make it clear that the 3rd Drakøns was the only force to spar with the famed Black Widow, and the Third Hussars as one of two units that did not face the Clan Invasion.[5]
