Planetary History[edit]

Third Succession War[edit]

In 3023 the mercenary unit Snord's Irregulars were assigned to protect a vital water purification plant on Hyde by the Lyran Commonwealth. At the time, Lyran Intelligence indicated that Hyde, A small ocean world on the border with the Free Worlds League, would soon come under attack. While waiting for an attack to happen, Cranston Snord used his 'Mechs to conduct excavations in search of treasure. The Irregular's didn't find anything, but were still engaged in excavations when Free Worlds League Military forces, the 23rd Herron Regiment, attacked the planet. The excavation site kept the Irregulars concealed from detection during the initial invasion, allowing them to surprise the League forces and defeat the attack.[16]

Fourth Succession War[edit]

In October 3028 the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces repositioned a number of frontline units as the Free Worlds League Military launched Operation DAGGER. One of the units repositioned were the Second Donegal Guards, who were relocated from Hyde to Rahne, leaving the Fifth Donegal Guards to defend Hyde; the LCAF strategic intent wasn't to prevent a League invasion, but rather to make invading forces pay more dearly for any gains and slow the progress of any breakthrough.[37]

Dark Age[edit]

When Clan Wolf turned upon its Lyran ally in 3140, Hyde was taken by the Clan that same year or the year after. In November 3141 the Wolf Hunters under Anastasia Kerensky briefly reclaimed Hyde for the Commonwealth in a battle which saw Alaric Wolf forced to retreat, but the planet was retaken by the Wolves barely a month later.[33][38]
