Ian Chesterton was the commanding officer of the Fifteenth Arcturan Guards as of 3142.[1]

While stationed on Arcturus in 3142, Hauptmann-General Chesterton's Fifteenth Arcturan Guards faced off against components of Clan Jade Falcon's Peregrine Galaxy. Without reinforcements to call upon, Chesterton elected to split his regiment into company-sized forces in order to push back against numerous Falcon operations simultaneously. While Chesterton's Guards fought without fear, they suffered severe casualties in engagements against the Falcons, with one notable engagement at the Stein Garten bridge seeing his Alpha Company repulsed numerous times by just two Points of Gurzil Support Tanks. Ultimately, only two of the Fifteenth Guards' nine companies were able to achieve their objectives and the unit was left badly damaged by the time Chesterton was forced to concede control of the planet at the end of the two-day-long battle.[1][2]
