Ichabod Evans was a IFV platoon commander in the Twenty-second New Samarkand Regulars during the Dark Age Era.[1]

History[edit]

Shujin Evans commanded a platoon of infantry fighting vehicles during the Twenty-second New Samarkand Regulars' invasion of the Federated Suns world of Cimeron. Tasked with isolating the planetary capital of Mondo Elegro from FedSuns reinforcements, Evans' vehicles carried multiple squads of Oni and Kishi battle armor troopers to the primary bridge spanning the Calumet River. The armored infantrymen secured the bridge's abutments while Evans' IFVs formed a roadblock around the span's southern end, shelling the Davion forces that eventually arrived to reinforce the city. Any hostile that evaded Evans' MRM barrage found itself swarmed by the battle armor troopers and, when the missiles ran out, the concentrated fire of the IFVs' PPCs proved to be an effective deterrent. Ultimately, Evans and his soldiers kept the bridge secure and the lack of reinforcements to the beleaguered capital city caused Cimeron to surrender shortly afterwards.[2][3]

Following the conquest of Cimeron, Tai-sa Lucas Tanaka praised Evans' actions during the Twenty-second Regulars' "Battle Honor Ceremony", acknowledging him as a warrior who exemplified the tenets of bushido. Evans also acquired two more IFVs for his now-augmented platoon and was training both his infantry and vehicle crews in beachhead operations, expecting that their services would continue to be needed as the Draconis Combine pushed further into Federated Suns space.[1]
