Description[edit]

The Ultra AC/10 (also UAC/10) was the second largest of the Ultra autocannons. First introduced into the Inner Sphere by the Clans, Free Worlds League scientists were the first to reverse engineer the weapon and make it viable for mass-production, though the knowledge quickly spread to the other Successor States. The weapon itself was capable of firing two shots per turn, like all Ultra autocannons, resulting in doubled heat and—potentially—damage.

Variants[edit]

In the years between the Second Exodus and the beginning of Operation KLONDIKE, the nascent Clans began development of what would become the Ultra AC/10. Experimental prototype versions of this new weapon were used during Operation KLONDIKE in small quantities. The Clan prototype Ultra AC/10 available during this period had identical stats to the Inner Sphere Ultra AC/10, though the latter required additional mounting space and jammed more frequently.[3]

Models[edit]

The Ultra AC/10 was manufactured on the following planets:

Imperator Automatic[edit]

After producing an Ultra version of the Autocannon/5 for many years, developing an Ultra AC/10 model was a natural project for Atreus-based Imperator Automatic Weaponry during the initial Clan Invasion era. With the company testing the new system in mid-3056, the Free Worlds League Military field-tested several prototypes during Operation GUERRERO with the FWLM approving the weapon for general use and IAW able to bring the first Inner Sphere-technology Ultra AC/10 to market in 3057.[4] [5]

Mandrissa Elaine Jackson of Capellan Confederation-based Bithinian Ballistics would secure a deal with IAW to obtain plan for their weapon to manufacture it for the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces, though rumor holds her own staff brokered the deal only for her to fire them and steal the credit.[6]

Type 9[edit]

Noted as having a 75mm caliber and a clip reload system when mounted on the Ku Wheeled Assault Tank, manufacture of the Type 9 Ultra AC/10 stretched as far back as the Golden Century[14] and still saw use on new 'Mech designs as of the Civil War era.[15]

Type DL[edit]

Its manufacture stretching from the Golden Century[16] to at least the ilClan era,[17] the Ultra AC/10 of the Type DL is a Clan-tech weapon used by multiple Clans in the Homeworlds and Inner Sphere.
