The Imperial Institute of Technology was the highest-level technology university in the Draconis Combine.[1] [2]
Overview[edit]
Founded in the 2700s during the Succession War era and with its main campus located on Xinyang, the Imperial Institute of Technology was a prestigious university where only the best and brightest with high science and math aptitudes would be tracked through the Draconis Combine school system to arrive ultimately at IIT.[1] Additionally cadets at a few other academies may elect to spend a year at IIT before graduation if they past the institute's exceedingly stringent application tests.[2]
Despite its position within the educational sector of the Combine, IIT could not compare with anything House Davion or House Steiner had to offer for most of its three centuries of existence,[1] constantly playing catch-up until both the Helm Memory Core and large amounts of Clan salvage and technology recovered from former Clan Smoke Jaguar and Nova Cat worlds allowed them to finally close the gap. The influx of technology required both an increase in class sizes and instructors much to the delight of IIT officials.[2]
