Indrina Dutta was a notable armored infantryman in the Tenth Regulan Hussars during the Republic Age.[1]

History[edit]

Naib Subedar Dutta was a member of the Tenth Regulan Hussars when the unit raided Emris IV in the Oriente Protectorate in 3095. While the mission was intended purely as a show of force, the Tenth Husssars were over-eager to prove their loyalty to the Regulan Fiefs after being tainted by their association with the Word of Blake during the Jihad, leading them to engage with the Protectorate's Steel Guard. Dutta's battle armor squads were securing the Tenth Hussars' escape route from Emris IV when a truncated platoon of Vedette tanks attacked their position. Working in conjunction with an additional squad of Interdictor infantry, Dutta's soldiers disabled the tanks and arranged the scene to make it appear as if they had torn the hostile machines apart with just their suits. In addition to this feat of propaganda, Dutta's successful securing of the Hussars' escape route enabled the unit to depart Emris IV with minimal losses.[2][3]

While Dutta was injured during the closing engagement on Emris IV, by surviving her wounds and then subsequently returning to combat duties she proved the value of the Regulan Fiefs' new battle armor design. Dutta also continued to perpetuate the myth that Regulan battle armor possessed the ability to tear apart armored vehicles by having her troopers use their claws on already-eliminated machines for future discovery by hostile forces. Her lasting legacy was that the trend of vandalizing defeated vehicles spread to the Regulans' other battle armor formations, ultimately creating an entrenched tradition amongst Regulan armored infantrymen.[1]
