Description[edit]
The Initiative Deck was initially announced as a 25 card deck for an alternate initiative system during the Clan Invasion Kickstarter 2019 to replace standard initiative rolls, but was later expanded into a 67 card deck which can be used as:
- An alternative initiative system;
- An initiative effects system providing random modifiers to gameplay in BattleTech or Alpha Strike;
- A deck to play the Free Worlds League card game Drax; or
- A deck to play the traditional card game Poker.
Deck Composition[edit]
The 67 cards are made up of:
- 5 suits of 13 cards each, being one for each of the Successor States, including:
- Dragons (Draconis Combine);
- Eagles (Free Worlds League);
- Fists (Lyran Commonwealth;
- Sunbursts (Federated Suns); and
- Swords (Capellan Confederation).
- 2 Star Lord Cards (ComStar).
Each of the suits has 9 cards numbered 2 to 10, three "court" cards (a MechWarrior, Duke and Successor Lord) and an Ace.
