Description[edit]

The Ion Sparrow, initially designated as the Butcherbird when first encountered by the Lyran Intelligence Corps, was introduced by Clan Jade Falcon on Alyina as an experimental testbed for the advanced partial wing system. Later, a warrior assigned to the project determined that it would be very effective as a scout and a harasser, and petitioned for its inclusion in the touman. The Ion Sparrow is also frequently used as a trainer for new warrior sibkos.[2]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The Ion Sparrow uses an endo steel chassis, XL engine, ferro-fibrous armor, and small cockpit to save weight. Eight jump jets have been mounted in the right and left torso, and when paired with the partial wing, allows the Ion Sparrow to cover 300 meters per jump. The wing also works with the double heat sinks to dissipate more heat. Despite all the weight saving equipment installed the 'Mech only has four tons of pod space available.

The primary configuration of the Ion Sparrow carries two improved heavy medium lasers in the left arm, and a pair of AP Gauss rifles in the right arm fed by one ton of ammunition provided in the right torso.

Alternate Configurations[edit]

  • Alternate Configuration B
This configuration carries an SRM-6 in each arm, barely fed by a single ton of ammunition in the right torso. BV (2.0) = 626[3]
