Istal Devalis commanded the Forty-fourth Nova Cat Cavaliers during the Clan Invasion Era.[1][2]

Star Colonel Devalis and the rest of her Galaxy conquered Irece in December 3051.[3] The following month she won the bid to assault Juazeiro where she fought an intelligent campaign that resulted in insignificant losses, had she included Omnifighters in her bid she would have completely destroyed the defending Twenty-first Galedon Regulars.[4]
During the Battle of Tukayyid, Beta and Gamma Galaxies advanced on their objective city of Joje only to be herded into a minefield and pinned in place by aerospace fighters of the 417th Division. Devalis and the superior anti-air capabilities of the Cavaliers were able to clear the skies but not before the drive on Joje was stalled. Hoping to regain the initiative and siphon some Com Guards forces from the defense of Joje, saKhan Lucian Carns ordered Devalis to advance along the Losiije Lake Road toward Tost. Instead they were ambushed by the Thirteenth and 431st Divisions and were shattered.[5]
In 3058, Devalis and her Cavaliers were garrisoning the world of Itabaiana.[6] By 3062, she was no longer in command of the Cavaliers.

- The BattleMech Recognition Cards incorrectly lists her as Khan of Clan Nova Cat.
- Tukayyid repeats this error, listing her as first the saKhan and then Khan while also describing her as male.
