Ivan was a notable VTOL pilot in the Clan Snow Raven military and, later, the Republic Armed Forces during the Dark Age Era.[1]

In 3128, Point Commander Ivan's Trinary was dispatched to the world of Trimaldix in order to eliminate the pirate band known as Rezak's Revenge. When the Trinary's Star of BattleMechs were either disabled or thrown into chaos by a pirate ambush, Ivan and his fellow solahma pilots were ordered to slow the retreating outlaws down before they could escape to their DropShip. The damage caused by the Raven VTOLs succeeded in slowing down Rezak's Revenge long enough for the Raven 'Mechs to recover and annihilate them, although all five of the aircraft in Ivan's Star were destroyed in the attempt.[2][3]
As the only one of the Raven pilots to survive the strike against the pirates, Ivan was ultimately ostracized by the rest of Clan Snow Raven for his failure to meet an honorable end, leading to his defection to the Republic of the Sphere in 3130. As an RAF VTOL pilot, Ivan zealously fought to earn his citizenship and represented himself in numerous conflicts in the wake of Gray Monday before finally dying in combat against the Draconis Combine on Dieron in 3136.[1]
