Ivan Petrov was an officer with the Tooth of Ymir.

By 3067 Petrov was the commanding officer of the Tooth of Ymir's Second Battalion.[1][2]
He directly led the only assault company and was known for his calm in action.[1]
On 28 December 3075 Petrov led his troops on Galatea, fighting against the Word of Blake's Jihad. Petrov called the Battalion's Charlie Lance, dubbed "Cacophony Lance" for the music they always played, to his command post, where he informed them of their mission: to infiltrate the Blakist's lines and destroy an Arrow IV ammo depot supposedly equipped with nukes before the Blakists could use them. Despite Petrov's reassurances about other lances supporting them, Cacophany Lance was aware that it was almost certainly a suicide mission, choosing to obey their orders regardless. Charlie Lance ultimately succeeded, although lance leader Lieutenant Charles Farabaugh was killed in the attack.[2]
