Hauptmann Jack "Hangman" Forbes was a member of the Third Lyran Guards during the Fourth Succession War.[1]
History[edit]
In September 3028, Jack Forbes commanded Bravo Company of the Second Battalion within the Third Lyran Guards when the unit was tasked with invading the world of Vega as part of Operation GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG. The Lyrans quickly drove the defending Draconis Combine forces from two of the planet's three continents. However in October 3028, Tai-sa Theodore Kurita arrived on world to take command of the defending Second Legion of Vega and Fourteenth Legion of Vega. He soon launched a counter attack that split the Lyran forces and drove them off world. Jack's Company was tasked with holding off the Combine forces as long as possible so the other Lyrans could escape.[1][2]
Jack Forbes would survive the fighting, but would be captured and interrogated by Tai-i Marshall Ts'u of the Fourteenth Legion of Vega after the battle.[1]
