Jaidev "Jai" Patil was the commanding officer of Third Platoon, Sickle Company of the 212th Nova Cat Headhunter Binary during the Jihad.[2][1]
History[edit]
Lieutenant Patil's mother was an infantry trooper in the Com Guards who perished during the Battle of Tukayyid two years after his birth, inspiring him to train himself from childhood in order to join the ranks of the Guards' infantry in her honor. During the opening of the Jihad, Patil was stationed aboard the ISS Invisible Truth and was thus one of the few survivors of ComStar's disastrous CASE WHITE attack against Blakist-held Terra. During further combat against Blakist forces, Patil's extreme prejudice attracted the attention of his superior officers and earned him a placement in the 212th Nova Cat Headhunters as an advisor after Precentor Martial Victor Steiner-Davion learned of the unit's existence. Patil struggled to fit in with the Clan unit in light of his personal history which lead to numerous inter-unit conflicts, even as his combat performance earned him the praise of Major Elijah Lossey and a promotion to command of Sickle Company's Third Platoon.[1]
While Patil would be officially added to the 212th's roster after its self-declared incorporation into Stone's Brigade, he made no efforts to hide his intent to transfer out of the unit in order to find placement elsewhere within the Republic Armed Forces. Unfortunately for Patil and Third Platoon, the entire unit vanished in 3084 while investigating possible Manei Domini sightings in the Periphery.[1]
