Major General James McEvedy was a Star League Defense Force officer that joined the Exodus Fleet.[2]

History[edit]

Early Life[edit]

McEvedy was a native on the Minnesota region, on Terra's North America continent, and by 2764 had risen to command the 331st Royal BattleMech Division. The Division recruited mostly from North America, and so had a tradition where its insignia used the outline of its current CO's home region from that continent, which was therefore Minnesota during the final years of the Star League.[2]

Amaris Civil War[edit]

McEvedy remained in command of the 331st during the Amaris Civil War, during which he participated in the 2768 invasion of Apollo in the Rim Worlds Republic, successfully and quickly taking a number of fortresses to which the defending militia had retreated.[3]

He later also participated in the drive to liberate the Terran Hegemony, including the campaigns on New Earth[4] and Terra.[5]

He would later, in 2780, write about his experiences on New Earth in a work titled Personal Remembrances.[4]

Operation EXODUS[edit]

After the fall of the Star League in 2781, Commanding General Alexander Kerensky began recruiting SLDF forces to join him in leaving the Inner Sphere. One of the many units answering Kerensky's call was the 331st Royal BattleMech Division, its commander with them. On November 5, 2784, 80% of the SLDF departed with Kerensky in his Exodus.[1]

In 2786, the Exodus Fleet reached the Cloak of Kerensky and the later-named Pentagon Worlds. The 331st became part of the group that colonized the planet Circe. In 2801, the Exodus Civil War broke out and Nicholas Kerensky called for a Second Exodus. What remained of the 331st rallied to Nicholas' cause and departed with him to form a new society: the Clans.[2]
