Jan was a notable MechWarrior of Clan Jade Falcon during the Jihad Era.[1]

Star Commander Jan was a freeborn and was thus considered an unusual choice for a posting to one of Clan Jade Falcon's frontline Galaxies. After the Falcons suffered heavy losses during the Refusal War, Jan's skills and charisma made him an ideal leader for the flood of new recruits being brought into the Falcons' military. When his Trinary was given one of Olivetti Weapons' new assault OmniMechs, many of the trueborn warriors in his unit refused to pilot what they saw as an inferior Inner Sphere machine. However, Jan readily accepted the new machine and wielded it with both lethality and efficiency.[1]
