Janos Dedirth was a Marshal in command of the MI-3 Division (Electronic Information Gathering), for the Draconis Combine sector, of the Department of Military Intelligence in 2787.[1]

In March 2787 Marshal Dedirth sent a report to Field Marshal Timons Davion, the Commander of MI-2 (Analysis and Speculation), urgently warning of activity in the Galedon Military District which suggested an imminent invasion of the Federated Suns. Field Marshal Davion however dismissed this report as delusional paranoia, contributing to the unpreparedness of the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns when the Combine did in fact invade in May 2787.
The messages between Field Marshal Davion and Marshal Dedirth were obtained by ComStar, who kept them in Federated Suns Folders 26A, within the ComStar Research Archives.[1]
